The best way to select the correct SMBIOS is to use Clover Configurator and from the SMBIOS section choose the closest Apple’s SMBIOS to match your hardware. Open Clover Configurator navigate to SMBIOS section like shown in the picture bellow and click on the SMBIOS selector and navigate through the list and find the best matching config and select it, Save the new config and that’s pretty much it. Express VPN Best for privacy. Number of IP addresses: 30,000 Number of servers: 3,000+ 3 months free with 1-year plan. Smbios.reflectHost = 'TRUE' and the model and serial number will be that of the Mac hardware host in the System Report. I do not know how will Apple/macOS treat this with the Apple ID that is associated with the host and macOS VM. AFAIK, Apple limits 5 macOS devices per associated Apple ID account. And there's also some special notes with SMBIOS: iMacPro1,1 and MacPro7,1 are the only 2 SMBIOS that will allow for dGPU to handle all the workload including background. We only recommend this SMBIOS if you require this, however you'll likely need to fix power management as sleep may break.

Smbios Mac Mini
All Apple computer use a unique SMBIOS definitions to tell the macOS how to communicate with the hardware resources such as CPU power management or how the macOS handles the graphics or audio resources etc.
The same rules apply to the Hackintoshes as well. For having the best experience and better compatibility you need to choose the closest SMBIOS to match your hardware specs.
macOS is a vendor (Apple) specific operating system which clearly is designed for Apple computers but since Hackintoshes are simply imitating Apple’s hardware to make the PCs to run macOS on a non-Apple hardware we need to use the same (or at least the closes settings) in the the form of SMBIOS setting in the config.plist
There are two approaches on how to select the best SMBIOS for your hardware.
- Most common way is to match the exact or closest SMBIOS to your CPU.
- Select the best or closest SMBIOS to match your GPU, even though this method is not widely used by many users but sometimes it has some benefits to avoid certain issues related to the GPU problems, specially when you are using an unlisted CPU.
The first method is widely used by many users simply because it is the best method to choose the SMBIOS and make sure the macOS runs smoothly and it will take advantage of the CPU’s power management and SpeedStep technology.
When you select the SMBIOS chooser you will see a long list of Apple's computers (see the attachment on the bottom of this topic) which are listed with the exact model and the processor they use, select the one that exactly matches your CPU and if your CPU's model is not listed select the closest model that matches your CPU.

You can click the “Generate New” button under the Serial Number few times to make sure that you have a unique Serial Number.

You might not be able to Activate FaceTime and iMessage with an invalid Serial Number but this way you won’t be using someone else’s actual Mac’s Serial Number.

Smbios For Mac Installer

Before this when I first install the Hackintosh I was using MacBook Air 6,2 which is really bad for Laptop. I'm suing Skylake so found MacBook Pro best for me. You may have question like why changing SMBIOS is important ? Yes, It is very important to change the SMBIOS. I am using the MacBook Pro13,2 but for a minute assume that I am using MacBook Air (8,1) which as core 2 duo then the Mac OS performs like 'Hey this laptop is using core 2 duo so minimize the performance, and also while updates and patches, Hey don't install Nvidia drivers to this laptop because it has not Nvidia drivers.' and this may get you into kernal panic. I think you got what I mean to say rite?
As I am one who changed the SMBIOS without any problems, But I've seen people in forum sites claim that changing SMBIOS from Clover got them stuck into Kernel Panic and need to re-install the entire OS. So, I recommend you to do following things before you change anything:
1) First Read : Before You Make Any Changes
2)Update your Clover Boot Loader
3)Update Config.plist
4)Download Clover Configurator (if you've not installed already)
Now, First thing you need to know which system do you have? What processor you're using(Broadwell, Haswell, Skylake)? Choose the one that match from EveryMac site . (For Laptop Users always recommended go with MacBook Pro) Once, you have choose that is likely best match with your system. Come back in Clover Configurator and click on Magic icon > Choose Mac Types > and select the one that you choose from EveryMac.
You are good to go, Mount your EFI and navigate through
EFI/EFI/Clover/
using Finder
and Right Click
on Config.plist
and open with Clover Configurator then goto SMBIOS Click on Magic Button and Click on Macbook Types and choose you desired one click ok then save the Config.plist
with File > Save exit Clover Configurator. Open TerminalShutdown computer and turn on
Click on Apple Logo > About This Mac
Congratulations You've just changed your SMBIOS!!
